decaffeinated green tea

There are studies that link green tea to a decreased risk of heart disease and cancer. It is suspected that the naturally occurring chemical compounds called polyphenels are what give green tea its health benefits. These elements seem to inhibit unhealthy cell growth and play a role in programmed death of cells.

Green tea also has antioxidants that help prevent damage to healthy cells as well as inhibit plaque formation in the arteries. Although the decaffeinating process may reduce some, but not all, health benefits, there are people who prefer drinking decaffeinated green tea as caffeine can impact sleep.
