how to improve memory
An elderly couple had dinner at another couple’s house, and after eating, the wives left the table and went into the kitchen. The two elderly gentlemen were talking, and one said, “Last night we went out to a new restaurant, and it was really great. I would recommend it very highly.” The other man said, “What’s the name of the restaurant?” The first man knits his brow in obvious concentration, and finally said to his companion, “Aahh, What is the name of that red flower you give to someone you love? His friend said, “Do you mean a rose?” Yes that’s it. Thank you!” the first man says. He then turns toward the kitchen and yells, “Rose, what’s the name of that restaurant we went to last night?”
Funny senior moment joke I came across somewhere. The reality is that this happens a lot even to younger folks. People of all ages are eager to know how to improve memory and here are a few tips:~Involve as many senses as possible. We usually read silently but reading out loud will help your memory.~Relate information to what you already know. New material that builds on previous knowledge is easily remembered.~Rehearse information frequently. Over-learning is a good thing. Recalling it becomes second nature.~Keep a positive attitude. Constantly admitting that you have a bad memory actually hampers the brain’s ability to remember.
