How Moisturizer Works

Moisturizers do not actually add moisture to the skin. What it does is seal in moisture that is still available in the skin. That is why it is best to moisturize right after a bath when the skin is still damp. Moisturizers contain emollients that fill gaps in-between the skin with tiny droplets of oil. This creates a skin that is smooth and supple.

With the large number of skin moisturizers in store shelves, choosing the right one for you can be challenging. A general rule is to look for one that contains both emollients and water binding agents; they make the skin feel smooth to the touch. Aveeno lotion has natural ingredients that help to leave a protective barrier, which prevents water loss to help maintain moisture all day long. It is fragrance-free and non greasy. It is the kind of moisturizer that is ideal for everyday use.
