A few months ago I had ringing in the ears. It’s scary. I thought I was going crazy. Briefly, I thought I had a tumor in my brain (I hate those medical shows). This ringing caused me some hearing lost and dizzy spells. Good thing my wife’s cousin is an EENT doctor. He diagnosed my sickness as tinnitus. Tinnitus causes are ear infections, loud noises or ear accidents.
Tinnitus causes from damaged to the hair cells in your ear. When these hair cells are damaged they sometimes move randomly. This movement is interpreted by our brains as ringing. Vertigo can also cause tinnitus. Old age can also cause tinnitus.

I was a coffee drinker for many years. Unlike some people, I have not yet crossed over to tea. My friend on the other hand has been drinking tea for a couple of years now and she swears she won’t go back to coffee. She made me try, mango tea, peppermint tea and hyson green tea all in one afternoon. They all tasted really good. I have since learned that green tea is touted as the healthy tea.
Hyson green tea comes from pan fried tea leaves. It is darker in color than most green teas. It tastes a little stronger than regular tea. For people who want authentic tea, you can try hyson. It is not coated with other flavors that are not as organic or as natural as the real green tea.

One of the most popular alternative medicine treatments today is the use of aromatherapy. It is believed to help people reduce their dependence on conventional pharmaceutical medications that many frequently rely on. Smells emitted by essential oils used in aromatherapy can trigger vivid memories and initiate a wealth of physiological effects that affect the body and mental outlook.
Essential oil can enter the body via the skin and the nose. Some people prefer to be massaged using essential oils that are said to target specific conditions such as headaches and anxieties. Others are content lighting aromatherapy candles or pouring essential oils in oil burners and oil warmers that help spread healing and relaxing aromas throughout a room.

It is a sad truth that statistics is showing us. Abuse of the elderly is rampant and there is not much that is being done to correct it. It happens in private homes as well as in nursing homes. In nursing homes alone, statistics show that more than 30 percent of all nursing homes in America have some form of resident abuse existing. The frightening thing is that only 20 percent of actual abuses are reported.
Elderly abuse takes on many forms. It may come in the form of physical or emotional abuse. Physical abuse involves the use of force on an elderly that causes him pain or injury. It can also mean the inappropriate use of drugs, any form of restraint or confinement. Emotional abuse can be a simple verbal intimidation or habitual humiliation, ridicule and blaming. In some cases, just the fact that the elderly is being ignored already creates psychological trauma on them.

Diabetes is a common enough occurrence especially in the more advanced age group. Oftentimes, it goes unnoticed because the symptoms start out as harmless and just seem part of the growing old phase. The way to prevent it is to go through regular physical check-ups that include measuring blood sugar. This way the disease is caught at an early stage. Cure may not be a possibility but if the patient is taught how to manage the disease he can live a full productive life.
The symptoms of diabetes include frequent urination, unusual thirst and extreme hunger. The patient will also experience unusual weight loss and will often feel extreme fatigue and irritability. These symptoms are typical for Type 1 diabetes. For type 2 diabetes, the same symptoms apply with the addition of frequent infections including recurring skin, gum and bladder infections. Blurred vision and tingling in the hands and feet may also be felt. Cuts and bruises also take a long time to heal.
