cardiovascular disease

Some of the world’s largest killers which claim 17.1 million lives a year have something to do with the heart. The risk of cardiovascular diseases such as heart attacks and strokes are often attributed to tobacco use, an unhealthy diet, physical inactivity and excessive alcohol intake. However, cardiovascular disease is preventable.

Reduce your chances of having a heart attack or stroke by:

~Increasing physical activities through regular exercise
~Eating at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day
~Limiting salt intake to less than one teaspoon a day
~Having your blood pressure checked regularly
~Ceasing to smoke cigarettes or tobacco
