It is very important to take care of one’s overall health. With the increasing incidents of heart disease, measures are now being taken to ensure a good heart health. Studies have shown that major risk factors are responsible for heart disease like: hypertension, high blood cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, smoking, physical inactivity, heredity and age. Other factors that contribute to heart illnesses are stress, hormones, birth control pills (exacerbates condition if other risk factors are present) and alcohol.
In order to maintain a good heart health, the following should be followed:
~Avoiding foods that contain unhealthy fats
~Choose low fat proteins
~Increase intake of fruits and vegetables
~Choose whole grain products~Avoiding foods that are very salty
