Beans are proven to lower the cholesterol level. Containing high fiber they help prevent blood sugar level from rising too quickly after each meal. That is why more and more diabetics rely on bean dishes to prevent their diabetes from worsening. Because of these, chefs and food experts have concocted a wide range of recipes using different kinds of beans as main ingredients including the red beans.
Ideal supplement for vegetarians and those trying to lose weight, red beans are usually served and eaten with rice. But these are fast becoming a favorite ingredient to health buffs’ salads too! In fact, there are already a lot of recipes available using red beans. In some other places, these are also called the ‘kidney’ or ‘chili’ beans because of their dark-colored skin and shape similar to that of a kidney. Red beans are smoother in texture and taste as compared to the other kinds of beans.
