history of diabetes

Diabetes is a metabolism disorder where the pancreas either produces little or no insulin or the cells do not respond to the insulin produced. Diabetes is not a contagious disease and people do not catch it from each other. However, people whose families have a history of diabetes are more prone to developing this condition.
