Chinese medicine

For centuries, China has relied on herbal medications and acupuncture for treatment of injuries or illnesses. This traditional practice of medicine is not just applied in East Asia as it leads most modern medical routine around the world. Herbal medicine has been adopted by Westerners and is being applied alongside with modern medical technologies in hospitals worldwide. Herbs used in Chinese medicine have been categorized according to their effect on the body. Usually, all parts of a plant such as stem, flower, root, leaf are used in this medication. It may even include dried animals such as seahorse, lizards, and tiger bones to name a few.

Chinese medication is an art which requires skills that takes years to master. Apart from herbal medicine, below treatment methods also form part of Chinese Medicine and are in common use nowadays:

~Acupuncture – a technique that uses needles inserted into specific points of the body
~Massage – the traditional Chinese massage involves the use of cups. The cups heated to form a vacuum on the skin and moved around by adding therapeutic massage oil
