In school, my son’s science teacher asked his students to write a paper on the effects of mercury poisoning. After a recent occurrence we have heard on the news, there were some speculation about this particular problem and there were even investigations going on. I am happy that at least the school was able to tackle important topics which kids themselves must get updated about.

I asked my son to do some research online in order to better understand the situation. Although I am a doctor, I would want him to learn how to find things out his way and be able to learn the importance of proper research in order to gain further knowledge. I read his paper and was glad that he was able to gain a lot of good insight on the issue. Hopefully he can make use of these skills should he plan to pursue medicine like me.
