When you make frequent trips to the bathroom, is often thirsty and easily gets tired you could be suffering from an insulin deficiency. This is a condition called diabetes. In advanced cases other symptoms such as blurred vision and wounds that take a long time to heal may also manifest itself. You will need to submit to a series of laboratory tests to determine the content of sugar in your bloodstream. A consistently high level of sugar is a sign that you have diabetes.

A confirmed diabetic will have to deal with a lifetime of treatment. Diabetes never gets better; you can only attempt to keep it from advancing further. Treatment will be done on a case to case basis taking into account other medical problems, the patient’s age and stage of the disorder. Generally it will focus on blood sugar control. This will be made possible by monitoring the food that the patient takes daily.
