Belly Dancing as an Exercise
Kathy Smith is a personal trainer who became well known for her workout videos between the 80’s and 90’s. She has developed 21 videos and 2 audios featuring 44 workouts. She has sold millions of these DVDs that are well-taught and non-intimidating. Her DVDs vary from aerobics, muscle toning, a combination of aerobics and toning and some stretch and yoga exercises. You will find one that will fit your exercise needs.
A Kathy Smith workout is both fun and productive. Flex Appeal Bellydance is a very well structured introduction to belly dancing. Movements are presented in a slow, sensual warm-up that progress into a fast paced aerobic workout. Moves range from basic hip circles and shimmies to more exotic moves that work all areas of the body. This exercise finishes with a stretch segment that is a blend of yoga, Pilates and deep stretches.
