The Importance of Senior Fitness
A lot of senior citizens are interested in getting into an appropriate exercise routine but don’t know how to start. The first step that a senior adult should take is get clearance from his or her doctor. Be clear on what is and what is not allowable. Ask your doctor if there is an exercise group that he can recommend. Once you have identified your exercise group or personal trainer, start by informing him about the doctor’s recommendations. Start slow and be mindful of anything unusual that you might feel during and after the exercise sessions.
As we age, exercise becomes all the more important to keep our strength and stamina. Senior fitness helps in both physical and mental aspects of health. It helps maintain a healthy weight; it wards off diseases by improving the immune function and makes the body organs operate better. You will experience better blood pressure and digestive functions. You will have more flexible bones and an erect posture. People will be complimenting you once they realize your age.
