funeral planning
Death is a sure thing. We will all go towards that end. When my mother died a decade ago, I came to realize that funeral planning is a must for all. It was during that time that I finally got to think of my own death. It was the time that I started praying for a “death in sleep”, yes, I don’t want to die in excruciating pain caused by a terminal disease. Since then I started inquiring, little by little though, about funeral service costs, life insurance, costs of burial lot, interment service fees and all.
I also picked my funeral song and told it to my eldest daughter. I told her that I prefer “What a wonderful world” by Louie Armstrong to be played in my burial. Just like any child, my daughter gets mad when I talk about death and that song. But I keep on telling her that death is inevitable, so might as well accept the fact that her parents will be gone too in the future. With my mother’s passing, I also made the decision to be more health conscious in order to avoid cancer.
