Managing Type 2 Diabetes

The American Diabetes Association reports that about 21 million people in the US have diabetes with around 90 to 95% having type 2 diabetes. In type 2 diabetes, the body either doesn’t produce enough insulin or cells are resistant to effects of insulin. As a result, sugar, in the form of glucose, builds up in the blood instead of going inside the cells which leaves the cells deprived of energy.

High glucose in the blood may damage the eyes, heart, kidneys, or nerves. Aside from maintenance medications and standard treatments, some diabetes patients also try natural diabetes cure. It is however highly recommended that patients should only do so under the close supervision of a qualified health professional because if diabetes is not properly controlled, the results can be life-threatening.
